Project description:

To replace the outdated fitness, KULeuven invested in a new sports hall with integration of a fitness room, indoor-beach volleyball hall and sports medical facilities.

In order to comply with a BEN building, the choice has been made to implement multiple renewable sources.

For example, the building is connected to a BTES field for heating, domestic hot water production and passive cooling, in addition to a reversible heat pump for active cooling and domestic hot water production.

Other techniques used to reduce energy consumption include heat recovery of shower water, provision of solar panels, etc.
