Project description:
As for most of our projects, we started from the ‘trias energetica’, whereby first – within a predetermined economic and architectural framework – the building envelope was optimised and then renewable technology under the form of a BTES field was used to meet the energy demand. This acts as a heat source during the winter for the operation of the heat pump and during the summer it provides the necessary cooling to achieve the desired summer comfort. This system is ultimately supported by a high-efficiency condensing gas boiler. Furthermore, type D ventilation was used for the entire ventilation concept, with maximum heat recovery efficiency.
For the fire station annex multi-purpose hall, the energy concept is based on a simple but advanced principle, in which sustainable heat pump technology is combined with a conventional condensing gas boiler system to cover the heat demand. This is combined with solar thermal panels to additionally provide hot water for sanitary facilities. Furthermore, the heat distribution in the building is done by a combination of underfloor heating and radiators on a low temperature regime.
