Volvo is planning activities related to the repair, maintenance and technical inspection of hybrid buses in Luxembourg. For this, a new building of approximately 7500 m² was built as an annex to the existing building, and a parking lot of about 4000 m² was created.
In the future, all hybrid buses in the public transport system will be loaded and repaired at Volvo.
The SNCT technical control offices have agreed to rent the future building. In addition, up to 40 rental units for logistics and freight forwarders will be available for rent.
450KW outdoor recharging stations and 150K indoor recharging stations of the workshop are planned for the hybrid buses. In the final phase, three transformers with planned capacities of 1×400 KVA and 2 x 800 KVA are planned to supply the plant.
The heating system consists of a pellet boiler with radiators in the offices and radiant ceiling panels in the workshops. Ventilation is provided by a ventilation unit with heat recovery for office and technical surfaces.
To keep the air pleasant in the offices, cooling is provided through the cooling convectors that are located in the false ceiling. Rainwater is harvested and used for the toilets and cleaning of buses with the 40,000 liter reservoir tank.
Volvo is further expanding in Luxembourg with a third office building and garage currently being planned.
