Grand Mercure Van Mieu Hotel is a 192-key hotel with a total area of 17.000m2, offering a wide range of services including gym, spa, swimming pool, restaurant, conference room and ballroom. As Grand Mercure is a 5-star brand of Accorhotel group, the project design must be complied with Accor standards.

After finishing the structure of the building, the investor decided to upgrade the hotel level from Mercure to Grand Mercure. Only after that, Boydens Engineering joins the design team and has to study to design all technical systems fitting into the existing structure and meeting the standard requirements. The hotel design ensures to bring high user comfort while taking into account energy saving criteria.

The main features for energy saving in the project include water-chiller with oil-free magnetic bearings, bringing higher energy efficiency for HVAC system and heat recovery, taking condensed water from chiller as heating source for heat pump, enhancing efficiency and reducing electricity consumption.
